This year, our educational programme ‘'Artsvit for Kids’ is truly innovative, as it covers not only children and young people, but also their parents! The new course is called ‘Art for Kids’ and can be attended both online and in person, as it runs parallel to the programme for children aged 6–9! So, if you are planning to bring your children to the class at 12:00, we strongly recommend that you register and join the useful discussion within the gallery walls.

As part of the new Artsvit for Kids programme, we have a separate course for young people aged 14 to 18 called About Art Here and Now.

The programme consists of lectures and discussions about contemporary Ukrainian art and workshops with guest artists and representatives of the local art community.

While you are preparing for your first classes as part of the Artsvit for Kids project, we will tell you a little more about each of the courses. Let's start with the programme for children, ‘Imagine and Create’!

A new programme for children will start on 7 October. The aim of the new course is to use art to show the importance of socialisation and communication in society, teach children how to work in a team, and give them the opportunity to feel like artists by going through the process from idea to implementation and presentation of their work. We will encourage children to reveal themselves, express themselves, think outside the box, and learn something new about themselves by practising various artistic techniques under the guidance of teachers involved in the process.

On 10 September, an exhibition of modern and contemporary art from Ukraine, entitled "Kaleidoscope of Stories. Ukrainian Art 1912-2023,‘ which features one work from our collection, namely ’Maria" by David Chichkan. We promised to tell you more about it, and we will do so right now, but first, let's talk about the exhibition project itself.

Artsvit Gallery and Dnipro Centre for Contemporary Culture have joined an interesting and important project aimed at freeing up time for parents to relax and promoting emotional recovery and development in children.

Relocated Animation in Dnipro is a series of free events for parents and children who want to try their hand at the art of creating animated films. The organisers have prepared a two-day programme consisting of workshops and screenings.

This Saturday, Waldemar Tatarchuk, curator, performer, and director of the Galeria Labirynt (Lublin, Poland), with whom we have been collaborating on projects for several years, will be visiting the Artsvit Gallery. We invite you to join the conversation!

We are launching a flash mob on Instagram to celebrate the birthday of the Artsvit Gallery, and we will be giving away a DSHF photo book!

Here's the plan: you make a story with a photo taken in the gallery space — old or new — that embodies your fondest memory of Artsvit. It can be any photo: a selfie, a photo report, or a picture of your favourite exhibition or event. Basically, whatever you liked and remembered the most.

Friends, tomorrow we will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Artsvit Gallery, and we would be delighted to celebrate it with you!

Our director, Iryna Polikarchuk, will kick off the public programme of events for the institution's birthday with a welcome speech and a talk about the gallery's notable projects, interesting exhibitions, and fruitful residencies. In essence, ‘Where we have been for 10 years.’

We invite you to attend a lecture by Olena Godenko-Nakonechna on ‘Contemporary Art in Dnipro,’ dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Artsvit Gallery!

The cultural expert will talk about contemporary art in the city, the emergence of the Dnipro school of fine arts: from alternative to official, and the specifics of the local ‘cultural landscape’. She will also highlight the development of the gallery business in Dnipro, the implementation of art projects and the role of art institutions in this, in particular the Artsvit Gallery, the Dnipro Centre for Contemporary Culture (DCCC), etc.

We have already told you more than once about the international project ‘Secondary Archive’ — a unique online archive of statements by female artists from Central and Eastern Europe, initiated by the Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation (Warsaw, Poland), and in 2021, the Artsvit Gallery became the Ukrainian partner of this important initiative. But now the residents of Dnipro have the opportunity to see it — or rather, hear it.

The birthday of the Artsvit Gallery is gradually approaching, so it's time to tell you more about our programme of events dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the institution!

Let's start with an announcement of a special class for children, ‘Artsvit for Kids: Me and the World Around Me’, because our educational programmes within the framework of the ‘Artsvit for Kids’ project are undoubtedly one of the main areas of the gallery’s work. It will take place on 8 July.
