While you are preparing for your first classes as part of the Artsvit for Kids project, we will tell you a little more about each of the courses. Let's start with the programme for children, ‘Imagine and Create’!
The idea behind this course is embodied in the thesis ‘Let's explore and restore the world to find ourselves in it: through movement, storytelling, and animation.’ During the classes, children, together with our teachers, will interact with the gallery space, explore their own bodies as unique instruments for creating art in time and space, and stage performances through which they will learn more about themselves and others. They will combine knowledge about people and nature, learn about ideas that people have borrowed from birds and animals to create engineering structures and art, invent their own inventions, heroes, and stories about them, and then visualise their ideas through the art of animation.
However, we would like to note that our approach to learning differs from the academic one: we do not teach children to draw, but teach them creative thinking and how to find their own ideas, which children can implement in three different areas. Each participant in this programme is a little artist who needs to be believed in, because the support of a mentor and an atmosphere of acceptance in the group are important drivers of creativity.
Classes will be held every Saturday. The first one will take place on 7 October. Its theme is ‘Depicting emotions through masks — reincarnation in nature and fairy tales.’ We invite you to join us!
Please note! You must register for each class to participate. Every week, we will publish a new registration form for the upcoming class. Follow the updates at https://linktr.ee/artsvit_for_kids
