We are incredibly happy to invite you to the opening of the last exhibition of this year! And how fortunate that it is filled with joy, unbridled imagination and positive emotions that we all cherish in anticipation of the future, because the authors of the works are children.
The vernissage will take place on 16 December, starting at 12:00. We will kick off with the premiere of a collective performance called ‘Apple’ — you have to see it!
The day has come! We are announcing the second charity raffle as part of Olia Fedorova's exhibition ‘Love | Rage’ and we have a super powerful prize for you — a work entitled ‘Welcome to the Motherland’!
To receive it, simply donate 100 hryvnia or more — the main thing is that the contribution is a multiple of 100 if you want to increase your chances of winning.
Tomorrow, participants in the youth course ‘About Art Here and Now’ will embark on an exciting journey to the Artsvit gallery’s storage facility. Our collection curator, Viktoria Nikitina, will be their guide to the world of art.
On 30 November, the Artsvit Gallery will host the debut offline screening of the Filmia Feminist Film Festival, which has been held online for the third year in a row.
The film programme includes short films from this year's festival programmes: ‘The Art of Healing,’ which brings together films about traumatic experiences, paths to healing and finding strength; and ‘There is an Address,’ which focuses on the struggle of marginalised communities and activists for the right to housing and a fair city. One of the films in the programme, ‘Mast-del’ by Iranian director Maryam Tafakori, will only be available to view at the offline screening.
We are pleased to announce a workshop for participants of the course ‘About Art Here and Now,’ which will take place in two days — on 18 November at 4 p.m. Together with the mentor of the class, Yulia Dunaeva, we invite young people aged 14 to 18 to make their own paper cutouts.
Recently, Artsvit gallery director Iryna Polikarchuk returned from a two-week networking trip to France and Germany. As part of a delegation of Ukrainian curators, she visited Paris, Dunkirk, Lille, Düsseldorf, Cologne, and Berlin to establish connections in the field of visual arts. Ten Ukrainian professionals from Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa, and Lviv visited leading cultural institutions, met with government officials and local artists, and visited leading local museums and galleries, art studios, and cultural centres.
We invite young people aged 14 to 18 to attend the workshop ‘The Body as Art’ as part of the course ‘About Art Here and Now,’ which will take place on 4 November at 4 p.m. The mentor for the class is dancer and performer Yulia Grishina.
We invite you to visit the exhibition of Kharkiv artist Olia Fedorova, ‘Love | Rage,’ which will take place on 2 November at 6:30 p.m. Project curator Oleksandra Shovkun will talk about the exhibition and the meanings embedded in the works.
The project combines the artist's textual and visual-poetic practices, which began at the start of the full-scale Russian invasion and continue to this day. It is about experiencing and reliving the strong emotions caused by the war.
On 14 October, at 6 p.m., the author of the exhibition ‘Love | Rage’ Olia Fedorova will talk about her writing and visual poetry practices before the invasion, immediately after it, and up to the present day, about how they developed and changed. She will also talk about the power of the meanings engraved in the text and the beauty of this artistic medium.
We are continuing our wonderful tradition of giving away works of art in exchange for donations, and to mark the opening of the exhibition ‘Love | Rage,’ we are launching a new charity raffle. This time, you have the opportunity to win one of the works by Kharkiv artist Olia Fedorova, namely ‘Sky over Kharkiv’! The painting was created under the impression of the Kharkiv night sky during a blackout in the autumn of 2022.
We are extremely happy to finally announce the incoming launch of „Secondary Archive. Women Artists in War” project. Through cooperation with Artsvit Gallery based in Dnipro and Galeria Labirynt based in Lublin, we aim to preserve the crucial, often silenced experiences and material heritage of women artists facing the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
