We are pleased to introduce a new duo of extremely interesting artists who will talk about their own artistic practice, what they are currently working on, and share their views on art - these are Roman Miller and Kateryna Shyman.
Roman Miller is an artist from Luhansk Oblast who settled in Dnipro after 2014, and is a teacher of fine arts by profession. Roman defines the direction of his work as expressive naturalism, although he is now leaning more towards conceptualism. As a rule, he works in series, and his works are connected by one “plot” line. The main theme is the dark side of existence: global natural or everyday things, often the intersection of the physical and metaphysical worlds.
Kateryna Shyman is an artist from Kyiv, curator and Doctor of Philosophy in Fine Arts. Her practice combines modern technologies (AR, VR) and classical techniques, such as mosaic, fresco, icon painting, and stained glass, etc. Kateryna explores reality, space, light, and the possibilities of art in the future, focusing on innovation and the role of man in them.
This meeting is a great opportunity to hear directly from the artists about their projects, processes, and searches in art, as well as join a lively discussion. During the artist talk, you will not only be able to learn more about Roman and Kateryna's work, but also ask them your questions, discuss current artistic topics, and simply be part of an interesting dialogue!
