Last week, our project ‘Gallery Talks’ came to an end. Over the course of three months, we held 12 meetings in two formats — lectures and discussions — where we raised many important topics.
For example, we explored how the art community functions: from art institutions to artists themselves, and also considered opportunities for their collaboration. We defined what an exhibition is in the broad sense of the word, because as a form of presenting creativity, they can be quite different. We also talked about online projects and podcasts, and explored what a curator does and what curatorship is as a phenomenon. In addition, the last two conversations took place as part of our interactive project ‘The Exhibition I Would Like to See’, where we focused on issues that have arisen due to the active use of artificial intelligence in art.
But the most important thing is that we got to know our visitors better. This is very important, considering how much our audience has grown recently. And not only for the Artsvit Gallery — we felt that this communication was also pleasant and useful for you. Many people attended the talks regularly, and the last meeting attracted a record number of participants: there were both familiar and new faces, not only from the art community, but from various fields, which we are incredibly happy about! We hope that these lively discussions helped you find new opportunities and like-minded people.
Thank you for becoming part of this impromptu ‘art lovers' club’. Perhaps this project will enter its second iteration in the future. But while we are on hiatus, we invite you to talk to each other, and in this way, our ‘Gallery Talks’ will continue. The closing of the interactive project ‘The Exhibition I Would Like to See’, which will take place the day after tomorrow, 10 June, could be a good reason for the first such informal meeting. It starts at 3 p.m., and admission is free.
