We are launching a flash mob on Instagram to celebrate the birthday of the Artsvit Gallery, and we will be giving away a DSHF photo book!
Here's the plan: you make a story with a photo taken in the gallery space — old or new — that embodies your fondest memory of Artsvit. It can be any photo: a selfie, a photo report, or a picture of your favourite exhibition or event. Basically, whatever you liked and remembered the most.
If you don't have any (which we highly doubt), you can visit us and take a photo in the current exhibition space — currently ‘Bus Station’ by artists from etchingroom1. And at the same time, it's a great opportunity to see the works on display, if you haven't seen them yet.
Be sure to tag Artsvit so we can see these stories.
If you wish, you can also write a few words about the gallery, the project you find most interesting, or simply congratulate us on our anniversary — we welcome any feedback!
We will randomly select one of these stories and present its author with a photo book dedicated to the phenomenon that went down in history as the ‘Dnipropetrovsk School of Photography’. Adding new facts and names to the current historical chronicle of the region, the publication expands knowledge about Ukrainian photography of the late 1970s and early 1990s. The photo book features the works of artists associated with the ‘Youth Section’ of the ‘Dnipro’ photo club: Mark Milov, Yuri Brodsky, Stanislav Polonsky, Semyon Prosyak, and the section's artistic director, Alexander Feldman.
The competition will run until 11 July. The winner will be selected live on Instagram at the Artsvit Gallery at 5 p.m.
