The archive, which launched last year with nearly 250 profiles of female artists from the Visegrad region, is now expanding its reach. The Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation, together with its partners – Artsvit Gallery (Ukraine) and Ambasada Kultury in cooperation with the Goethe Institut (Belarus), will be adding 50 artists from Ukraine and 20 from Belarus to the project.

Implemented thanks to the joint effort of local curators, and coordinators, the project includes artists from all backgrounds – emerging, young, unknown, as well as those with an established position. The is designed to show the work of female artists from the region, as a place where they can speak for themselves.

Secondary Archive join Manifesta 14 Prishtina 2022!
We are happy to announce that this unique project initiated by Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation is on the programme of Manifesta Biennial that this year will take place in Pristina, Kosovo. The 100-day programme will be spread across the city in different venues including the former industrial site of the Brick Factory and the Grand Hotel or an iconic hotel built during the Yugoslav period. is an online platform that showcases voices and profiles of three generations of women artists from Central and Eastern Europe. During the last two years the archive has gathered hundreds of artistic statements from women from the region both internationally recognised and those who remain unknown. With the help of Manifesta 14, we want to go beyond the current condition of the archive which is tied to its virtuality, and present the archive in a narrative environment.
Manifesta 14 Prishtina is set to open July 22. More information about the Secondary Archive exhibition will be revealed gradually as the opening of the biennale approaches.
