OPEN-CALL: WALDEMAR TATARCZUK PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP

The Artsvit Gallery (Dnipro) and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute (Warsaw) invite to participate the performing arts workshop by polish artist and curator Waldemar Tatarczuk, which takes place September 04-06 in the Artsvit Gallery.

During the classes, participants test the main elements of performative actions. The training is based on the art from 70’s till now. During the workshop, Waldemar Tatarczuk uses the archival documentation of performances. It allows getting acquainted with the work of such artists, as Marina Abramovic and Esther Ferrer.

At the next stage, the participants perform their own actions, using the motives and mechanisms of experienced artists, and paying attention to the placement in space and interaction with the public. An important element of the workshop is the awareness of the performance as an action in time and space.

Participants work within the limits defined by the lecturer but have the opportunity to step over them, break and act contrary.

Workshop schedule:

September 4 - from 17.00 to 20.30

September 5 - from 11.00 to 14.00 and from 16.00 to 19.00

September 6 - from 11.00 to 14.00

The schedule may be changed.
