We look forward to seeing you at the last tour of the year of Olia Fedorova's exhibition ‘Love | Rage’

On 21 December, the last tour of Olia Fedorova's exhibition ‘Love | Rage’ in 2023 will take place. It will be conducted by the project curator Oleksandra Shovkun — we look forward to seeing you there. The tour starts at 6:30 p.m.

Olia Fedorova's project ‘Love | Rage’ combines the artist's writing and visual poetry practices from the beginning of the full-scale invasion to the present day. Each series of works represents the experience of living through strong emotions caused by the war in different circumstances — staying in a bomb shelter during the shelling of Kharkiv in the first months, leaving the country and returning home — and through different means — curses, prayers, affirmations.

Belief in the magical power of words to influence situations has long existed in Ukrainian culture. It is not surprising that in difficult times, various spells, oaths, prayers, and curses are constantly gaining popularity. On the one hand, they serve as a kind of verbal magic and perform a therapeutic function. After all, speaking and verbalisation are physical processes that anyone can do to help themselves cope with their emotions and join in the common struggle. On the other hand, spreading truthful information and talking about what is happening now is an important component and a powerful weapon against the enemy in the information war.

Next Wednesday, we’re opening an audiovisual installation based on your stories about Dnipro

“The Museum of Forgetting” is a series of projects combining research with artistic expression. It focuses on forgetting as a counterform of memory: the repression of traumatic experiences, the conscious ‘purification’ of the unwanted, gradual disappearance through physical decay, or transformation dictated by the need for renewal. These processes are viewed as multidimensional — material, ideological, collective and personal, yet both mundane and tragic.

Waldemar Tatarchuk returns to Dnipro for the closing of his exhibition and will conduct a tour!

This will be the last day of the exhibition — a kind of finale and, at the same time, an opportunity to see the project and hear about it directly from its author. During the tour, the artist will guide visitors through the exhibition and talk about the ideas behind it, as well as his collaboration with Ukrainian artists, which has become an important part of this project.
