Congratulations to the following three female artists who are included in the new edition of the Secondary Archive project «Women Artists in War»:
♦ Daria Molokoiedova is a young artist whose entrance into adulthood after graduating was both a celebration of reconnecting with her inner child and the terror of a full-scale invasion of war in Ukraine. Her artwork is full of experiences of war and the emotional hardship the conflict brings. She weaves the stories of armed conflict with child-like tenderness, using various visual mediums.
♦ Marharyta Polovinko is an artist from Kryvyi Rih and a volunteer engaged in helping wounded Ukrainian defenders with evacuation. Her artistry underwent a profound transformation as her themes shifted towards the war. She strives to evoke empathy and provoke introspection, inviting viewers to confront the realities of conflict and its enduring psychological scars.
♦ Dasha Chechushkova was born in Odesa where she attended art school, graduating in 2018 from the Department of painting and continuing studies in arts in the following years. She uses various media to present her inner world, with her diary-notebook being the centrepiece. Currently, her work is aimed towards the study of memory and traditionalism.
