At the end of April, Artsvit Gallery’s collection curator Viktoriia Nikitina took part in a networking event for participants of the Museum Futures programme, within which we are developing a website dedicated to the gallery’s collection.
During the meeting, participants presented their institutions and projects, shared the challenges that arise when working with artistic and historical collections, and discussed possibilities for future partnerships and collaboration. A separate part of the event focused on group work around current issues of preserving, researching, and representing visual art collections.
Participants also visited the exhibition Illustrateka at Mystetskyi Arsenal and learned more about the team’s approaches to exhibition design and production.
For us, such meetings are an opportunity not only to present our own project, but also to stay in dialogue with colleagues working with cultural heritage and art collections today.
Work on the future Artsvit Gallery collection website is ongoing. Soon we will announce its presentation, where we will share more about the platform’s structure and how researchers, curators, and artists will be able to engage with the Artsvit Gallery collection in their own projects.
