We are Launching The Open Call for The "Hey, My Name is Land-Art" Residency

Press Release

Artsvit Gallery announces an open call for participation in the residency "Hey, My Name is Land Art" dedicated to exploring the relationship between art and the environment.

The program is designed for artists who seek to expand their creative toolkit, work beyond institutional spaces, and explore the possibilities of artistic expression through engagement with natural and urban environments.

Throughout the residency, participants will explore the history and theory of land art, environmental art, site-specific practices, and other approaches that engage with place, landscape, and context. Particular attention will be given to the Ukrainian environmental art, local land art communities, and contemporary approaches to working with space.

Alongside theoretical sessions, the program includes practical work in the urban environment of Dnipro. Parks, public gardens, the embankment, Monastyrskyi Island, and the inner courtyard of DCCC will serve as sites for observation, research, and the realization of participants’ artistic ideas.

Residency mentors:

Natalia Lisova — artist, art historian, researcher of Ukrainian land art, and founder of the Land Art School.

Svitlana Koshelieva — artist and cultural manager working with land art, graphic art, and photography.

The residency will take place from July 27 to August 23 and will consist of three stages:

  • July 27 – August 9 — on-site program in Dnipro;

  • August 10 – August 20 — online project development;

  • August 21–23 — final presentation of results  in Dnipro.

Following the open call, 8 participants will be selected. Priority will be given to Dnipro inhabitants (6 places), while artists from other cities in Ukraine are also encouraged to apply (2 places).

Participants will receive:

  • a two-week theoretical and practical program with the residency mentors (up to 5 hours of sessions daily);

  • mentorship support in developing their own project;

  • production budget coverage for their artwork;

  • an artist fee for participation;

  • a public presentation of residency outcomes;

  • for participants from other cities, coverage of travel and accommodation expenses during the on-site part of the program.

We invite artists interested in environmental art practices, eager to expand their artistic language, and ready to develop new projects within the urban landscape.

Submit your application by July 15 via the link.

The results of the open call will be announced on July 20 and sent to the email address provided in the application form.
