Over the past two months, they have attended lectures and workshops with five experts in various performative practices (body and voice; word and text; movement and space; interaction with materials; spectator-participant) — both performing artists, choreographers, and theatergoers.
Based on the results of these meetings, the residents chose a mentor, from whom they received advice on how to improve their performance during individual consultations. What came of it, what exactly they prepared — we'll see!
WHEN: November 17, at 2:00 PM
WHERE: Artsvit Gallery, Krutogornyy Uzviz 21a. Entrance from Uspenskaya Square
Free admission!
Brief description of the performances of all participants in the program:
Ira Khvorost
“My performance is part of the exhibition project “Ineffable”. Like the entire exhibition in general, my performance, in particular, focuses on the importance of the Ukrainian language.
During the performance, I invite the audience to take a card with a QR code, which will be placed in the hall. By scanning the code, you can learn more about the project and leave your feedback on the performance.
Thank you for your attention and support!”
Tamila Kurilo
“We are made of stories. We share narratives.
What happens when we dare to tell about ourselves? What invisible ties unite us? What happens inside us when we hear the story of another person? How does war change us, our connections and relationships? What are we similar in, and what makes us unique? 8 personal stories that can resonate with many”
Daryna Kalinovskaya — “Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday”
“3 days from my creative life”
Olena Kharakhulakh — “Untitled”
“Dive into your shadow side to explore your fears, the burden of the past and the dead, which like a train clings to your legs and does not allow you to move, squeezes your temples. Being free and strong-willed is always a choice. And this choice requires sacrificing your own past on the altar of your future”
Denys Lukin
“Act 1”
Egor Kucheruk — “Woman”
“On subordination and the mechanism for removing hegemonic masculinity. About when I became a man, and about when I did not become a man”
Katerina Konyushenko
“I would like to work with the given. Since performance is the art of presence, I would like to extend this “magic” not only to the author and the viewer, but also to the place.
We are in space, we leave traces of our presence, we have a relationship with a certain place - even if we come there for a few minutes.
There is a certain unpredictability in the interaction between a person and space, in my opinion - this is a real treasure. It is impossible to plan the interaction, like a drawing, for example: this is a moment of life, and it does not depend on you completely.
*Untitled performance until the moment of creation”
Alisa Yepifanova
“An artist who works with the themes of memory, loss and recovery. Presenting a performance-dedication to "CMU (Flight Control Center)"
Marina Gaba
"I invite you to a performance where we explore the memory of urban space and our relationships with it. Dnipro is a city where changes are constant. What was on the site of the carousel, which is between the Central Department Store and the Passage Shopping Center? If you remember, take a sticker and join me in our collective mapping and reminiscing.
Join the online broadcast (the second part of the broadcast is here), or let's meet on the square. Take a sticker and go on your own journey through the city, maybe you will also find fountain bowls covered with earth.
Changes in public space (squares, streets, parks, courtyards of multi-story buildings, etc.) raise the question: who owns these places?
