Participants of the educational program on performance "DIYezmst" have been selected!

The open competition for participation in the educational program on performance "DIYezmist" has ended and we are ready to announce the names of artists who will get to know each other today and together begin to master a new tool for their creative expressions. The project will involve:

♦ Alisa Yepifanova;
♦ ​​Daryna Kalinovska;
♦ Denis Lukin;
♦ Yehor Kucheruk;
♦ Ira Khvorost;
♦ Kateryna Konyushenko;
♦ Marina Gaba;
♦ Oleksandra Kanyuka;
♦ Olena Kharakhulah;
♦ Tamila Kurilo.

For 9 weeks, they will attend lectures, seminars and workshops and have individual consultations with experts, and the finale of the project will be a presentation of their own performances. We invited practicing performers to share their experience - Yaroslav Futymsky, Natalka Lisova, Mykola Naboka, Yulia Hryshyna and Yuriy Kruchak. They will conduct master classes on five aspects of performative practices:

— body and voice;
— word and text;
— movement and space;
— interaction with materials;
— spectator-participant.

Classes will be held mainly on weekends. The course starts on September 20 and will last until November 16.

The project is the winner of the Per Forma grant program, which is implemented by the Kyiv Contemporary Music Days platform with the support of the Performing Arts Fund NL and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of the Netherlands for the development of the performing arts sector in Ukraine.

Collection Online: New Perspectives

We are Starting the Lecture Programme «Ukrainian Art: Decolonizing Perspectives» This September

«Ukrainian Art: Decolonizing Perspectives» is a series of lectures running from mid-September to mid-November. Invited speakers include Kateryna Yakovlenko, Oksana Barshynova, Anastasiia Manuliak, Aliona Penzii, Alya Segal, Sviatoslav Chyruk and others.

The programme examines the colonial influence on several generations of Ukrainians from different angles of view, with particular attention to Dnipro and the eastern regions of Ukraine. Many of us grew up in an environment where Russian narratives dominated in education, in the media, and in the art. Today, we critically rethinking the contours and extent of this influence and learning to distinguish what is ours from what was imposed on us. This is not only a cultural process but also a personal one: a process of reclaiming an identity alienated by Moscow-centrism and russification.
