On August 13 at 6:30 PM, we will watch two films by Kharkiv artists Andriy Rachynskyi and Daniil Revkovskyi — “Labor Protection in the Dnipropetrovsk Region” and “Rattling, Knocking, Arguing and Burbling.”
“Occupational Safety in Dnipropetrovsk Region” (2018) is a compilation of videos found on social networks, filmed by employees of industrial enterprises in the Dnipropetrovsk region and residents of nearby areas. Workers and local residents used their devices to record everyday production and emergency situations. In turn, the artists revealed the video authors themselves in their work — their voice-overs, which record their reaction to what they saw and the conditions in which they work.
“Clang, Knock, Argument and Bubbling” (2021) are four video novels where the artists try on the roles of the last inhabitants of the Earth. Around them are the landscapes of Kryvyi Rih with abandoned pipes, dirty water and fields red with ore. Among themselves, they speak only with gurgling, sounds and shouts, which are very reminiscent of the conversation of drunks in a sleeping area.
The first video work lasts 22 minutes. 14 sec., second — 9 min. 28 sec.
