Olya Fedorova's work ‘Sky over Kharkiv’ can be yours for a donation!

We are continuing our wonderful tradition of giving away works of art in exchange for donations, and to mark the opening of the exhibition ‘Love | Rage,’ we are launching a new charity raffle. This time, you have the opportunity to win one of the works by Kharkiv artist Olia Fedorova, namely ‘Sky over Kharkiv’! The painting was created under the impression of the Kharkiv night sky during a blackout in the autumn of 2022.

The rules remain unchanged: one donation of 300 hryvnias equals one ticket for the participant. If you donate twice, three times, or ten times more, your chances of winning will increase accordingly.

You can participate in the drawing by following the link to the bank.

The funds raised will go towards a vehicle and heating for the soldiers of one of the units of the 80th Airborne Brigade — the men and women are in dire need of a pickup truck to overcome the autumn mud, and of course, stoves, because winter is coming. The fundraiser, which we have decided to support, was announced by the Charitable Foundation ‘Combat Volunteer of Ukraine’.

Its goal: 350,000 ₴

IMPORTANT: in the description of the transfer, please indicate your contact number or nickname on Instagram/Telegram and your name so that we can contact you.

The draw closes on 7 November at 12:00. The results of the competition will be announced on the same day at 15:00, live on the Art World gallery's Instagram. The winner will be chosen at random.

Please note! We will ship the work at our own expense within Ukraine.

We would like to express our special thanks to the author of the exhibition ‘Love | Fury’ — Olia Fedorova — for her support of this collection.

We are Starting the Lecture Programme «Ukrainian Art: Decolonizing Perspectives» This September

«Ukrainian Art: Decolonizing Perspectives» is a series of lectures running from mid-September to mid-November. Invited speakers include Kateryna Yakovlenko, Oksana Barshynova, Anastasiia Manuliak, Aliona Penzii, Alya Segal, Sviatoslav Chyruk and others.

The programme examines the colonial influence on several generations of Ukrainians from different angles of view, with particular attention to Dnipro and the eastern regions of Ukraine. Many of us grew up in an environment where Russian narratives dominated in education, in the media, and in the art. Today, we critically rethinking the contours and extent of this influence and learning to distinguish what is ours from what was imposed on us. This is not only a cultural process but also a personal one: a process of reclaiming an identity alienated by Moscow-centrism and russification.
