"Art Speaks" is an opportunity for artists to express themselves, talk about themselves and their own creativity, the projects they are currently working on, and to establish a dialogue with the audience. The project is long-term, and we plan to hold such meetings once or twice a month in the format of an artist talk with the participation of several artists at once, combining them according to common themes, styles, or media.
The goal of the project is not only to discover new names and provide a platform for self-presentation, but also to create a space for meeting other artists in order to unite the artistic community, help form connections, and establish communication between artists for possible collaborations and new projects.
We decided to create such a project because we receive many proposals from artists in the mail, but we cannot physically give everyone the opportunity to express themselves, because our exhibition opportunities, unfortunately, are limited - only 4-5 projects per year. However, you can present your creative work to the audience, talk about artistic practice, current series, share the stories of their creation and thoughts not only through a personal exhibition, but also in the format of an artist talk. Therefore, we invite artists to participate in the project if you are looking for discussion, feedback, to be in contact with other artists who speak on the same topic, or have common methods of creative expression.
We will select skippers through an open competition that will last throughout the project - there is no clear deadline. We invite participants who work in the field of contemporary art, without age restrictions. Not only Dnipro residents, but also residents of different cities can apply, but travel and accommodation expenses are not provided.
