This week, we invite you to discuss opportunities for artists and institutions to find each other — join our Gallery Talks!

What opportunities do institutions create for art professionals: artists, art managers, curators, and people who are interested in contemporary art and want to join the art community? Find out at the sixth meeting of our Gallery talks programme!

We invite you to discuss residencies, grants for implementing your own projects, open calls, volunteering at festivals, and other opportunities for artists and institutions to find each other.

We would like to remind you of one such opportunity — Artsvit Gallery, in collaboration with Galeria Labirynt (Lublin, Poland), has announced an open call for Ukrainian artists, curators, and researchers.

During the discussion, we suggest raising the following questions:

♦ How difficult is it to find these opportunities and where to look for them?

♦ What stops (or prevents) people from applying for open calls?

♦ How can communication between art professionals and institutions be improved?

♦ Examples of such opportunities and communication in Dnipro.

Please note that this week we will not be meeting in a lecture format, but rather for a real discussion, so join us!

WHEN: Saturday, 22 April, 15:00

WHERE: Artsvit Gallery, 21a Krutohirnyy Uzviz

Admission is free, but registration is required to participate.

The curator and author of the programme is our project manager Oleksandra Kutenko.

Next Wednesday, we’re opening an audiovisual installation based on your stories about Dnipro

“The Museum of Forgetting” is a series of projects combining research with artistic expression. It focuses on forgetting as a counterform of memory: the repression of traumatic experiences, the conscious ‘purification’ of the unwanted, gradual disappearance through physical decay, or transformation dictated by the need for renewal. These processes are viewed as multidimensional — material, ideological, collective and personal, yet both mundane and tragic.

Waldemar Tatarchuk returns to Dnipro for the closing of his exhibition and will conduct a tour!

This will be the last day of the exhibition — a kind of finale and, at the same time, an opportunity to see the project and hear about it directly from its author. During the tour, the artist will guide visitors through the exhibition and talk about the ideas behind it, as well as his collaboration with Ukrainian artists, which has become an important part of this project.
