We invite you on October 17 at 6:30 PM to watch the video art "Mechanobchormet. The Path of Trials" - a unique video art that combines live improvisations by bandura player Marina Krut with a plastic performance by actor and director of the Academy of Movement Sergey Belsky. The filming took place in the atmospheric environment of an abandoned institute, where numerous artifacts of its past have been preserved to this day, creating a unique scenography.
This video art is part of the art project "Sounds of Zabroshka", which is conceived as a series for transforming wastelands into living works of art. The project aims to draw attention to forgotten architectural objects, telling their stories in the language of art. Musicians, artists and performers transform wastelands and ruins of historical buildings into living works of art, inspiring society to rethink its own history and the role of architectural objects in the modern world.
"Maybe not everything needs to be destroyed - it can be transformed and used in a new context. By combining performative art forms with abandoned iconic places, we change the context of both the locations themselves and the art. This approach opens up new opportunities and new paths for development." (Sergiy Gusyatnik)
Changing the context of a place, resuscitation, rethinking. With the help of art, you can rethink a lot. Now it is not an abandoned building, but a stage, a canvas for an artist (in the broad sense), an object of art, where all possible options are possible - potential. After all, in the beginning there was not a word, but the potential of this word. Even in abandoned places you can find self-expression and freedom. Globally, Sounds of Zabroshka is a collaboration of artists, historical places and architects of these places, it is a dance and triumph of the idea and ideology of a person, it is a mental transition and immersion in infinity.
The project was conceived during the Covid-19 pandemic, but the implementation of the idea took place only a week before the full-scale invasion, in conditions of cold and depressive states with a warm desire to inspire, which gives it a special mood and strength.
The video art will be demonstrated in Ukrainian. It will be presented by the director and producer of the project, Serhiy Gusyatnik, via online communication. The event will last 1 hour.
