Our project "Art Speaks" continues! This Saturday, the third meeting will take place, to which we have invited two artists, namely Tamara Safarova and Olena Kharakhulakh.
Tamara Safarova is a Ukrainian artist of Azerbaijani origin, currently living and working in Kyiv. In her practice, she explores the themes of cultural and personal identity, mental and physical trauma, stereotypes, personal and collective memory. Her art focuses on bringing to the surface the hidden — that which usually remains beyond conscious perception. Recently, the artist has been paying special attention to the body as a carrier of experience — individual and collective. She works with graphics, painting, comics, digital art, photography, and performance.
Olena Kharakhulakh is a Ukrainian multimedia artist from Dnipro, a participant in our last year's educational performance program "DIYezmist". The subject of the artist's artistic practice is the cognition of the inner and outer world of man. Through the microcosm, she explores the macrocosm, the duality of the world, and its ambivalence. The artist is interested in topics related to freedom, individuality and personal development. Olena seeks to rethink her own experience of transformation and encourage the viewer to get rid of the templates and attitudes imposed by society. The artist is open to experiments, so she is not limited to painting, and also works with digital art, video art and other media.
The conversation should be extremely interesting, because the artists touch on quite deep topics that intersect and resonate both on a personal and collective level. So join the discussion, we are extremely happy for a broad discussion!
