Artsvit Gallery, in collaboration with Galeria Labirynt (Lublin, Poland), announces an open call

Artsvit Gallery, in collaboration with Galeria Labirynt (Lublin, Poland), is announcing an open call for Ukrainian artists, curators, and researchers. The deadline is 17 June 2023.

If you work with socially critical art, reflect on current processes in society, and use various media and approaches in your work, we invite you to tell us about yourself by applying to participate in the Lublin Station residency at the Galeria Labirynt in 2023–2024. The duration of the residency is 1–2 months.

To apply for the competition, you must fill out an online form in Ukrainian or English and attach your portfolio – https://bit.ly/40famOs

There are no age restrictions.

If you are an artist, you can pursue your own practice during the residency and, at the end, prepare a presentation, screening, exhibition or other event of your choice (if you wish), but an artist talk is mandatory.

If you are a curator, we suggest that you conduct your own research, prepare a public programme or develop an exhibition concept.

During the residency, you will receive funds for production, accommodation, a scholarship (at least PLN 2,000) and travel expenses.

We have been cooperating with the Galeria Labirynt for many years and have a trusting partnership and mutual support. Labirynt is one of the European institutions that systematically supports and cooperates with the Ukrainian art community. That is why we recommend participating in the open competition.

These processes are viewed as multidimensional — material, ideological, collective and personal, yet both mundane and tragic.

Waldemar Tatarchuk returns to Dnipro for the closing of his exhibition and will conduct a tour!

This will be the last day of the exhibition — a kind of finale and, at the same time, an opportunity to see the project and hear about it directly from its author. During the tour, the artist will guide visitors through the exhibition and talk about the ideas behind it, as well as his collaboration with Ukrainian artists, which has become an important part of this project.
