The exhibition by the Kharkiv artist Bella Logacheva is presented in Artsvit gallery. Curator – Olena Kasperovich. Opening – January 20 at 7:00.
In the age of digital technology, constantly coming under the control of surveillance cameras, our reality is gradually turning into a series of videos compiled by various sources. Trying to escape from following into a meditative state of absence and contemplation ends with intervention of an anxious "eye" that is looking directly at you.
"Observation" is the continuation of the "Bridge" project, which was the result of a one-day tour executed by the artist from Kharkiv to the Dnipro and back. The tour was organized by curators of the "Cultural Traffic" initiative. The idea is that the artist is given the opportunity to go from the Dnipro to Kharkiv and back for free. Impressions of the travel became the material for the project "Bridge".
In the Artsvit gallery, Bella Logacheva presents photos, videos and installations as a part of the "Observation" project. In times of digital technology, constantly falling under the control of surveillance cameras, our reality gradually turns into a series of video materials, compiled by various sources. An attempt to escape from the follow-up to the meditative state of absence and contemplation ends with the disturbing intervention of the "eye" that looks directly at you.
