THE COLLAGE FOR CHILDREN: THE ARTSVIT GALLERY PRESENTS A NEW COURSE FOR THE YOUNGEST ARTISTS

Scientists believe children, who study art, are four times more successful in their schooling, including maths and other exact sciences.

At the same time, 72% of business leaders from the United States admitted they are looking for people who can creatively approach the problem. It doesn’t surprise, today the pages of newspapers and magazines contain a lot of success stories about people who once overcome the challenges in an unusual way. These statistics is convincing enough to think about the evolving creative capacities of the children.

For the Artsvit Gallery it's more important to turn children's art communication into a great journey that will allow exploring the world and oneself easily and playing.

Creative lessons help children acquire skills, which are often not worked through during the standard school classes, but will necessarily be needed in life. First of all, we talk about the confidence. Trying new in a comfortable space of the gallery, the child learns more about his creative skills. Secondly, the youngest artists learn to focus, work in a team and enjoy the process.

Why the collage? Frankly, we have already tried many approaches, as this is the fourth course organized by the gallery. Previously, our programs focused on the art history and directions. This time we decided to create the most practical course. From the experience we see that the greatest pleasure for children is the opportunity to create the artwork at every lesson and to see their work’s results almost immediately.

This course is also special because children deeply study one method – collage, but using different approaches and materials. For example, they work with fabrics, cards, magazine cuts. Also, they perform the following tasks: come up with own cartoon character and his story, create his own city with a special life or a collage of impressions from the heard music, make assemblies from knuckles, combs, castles, etc.

Practical classes are the basis, and in the process of studying children learn more about the art history, work in an atmosphere of the gallery, where the exhibitions are constantly presented, and contemporary artists and curators communicate with students with pleasure.

"The collage is interesting both for children and for any adult," the teacher of the course Victoria Timonova believes – “with the help of this technique it is possible to speak and identify ourselves. "

The course contains 19 classes in total. It can be completed or joined at any convenient time. The cost of one lesson is 100 UAH, subscription for 5 lessons 400 UAH.
