PRESENTATION OF THE QR-GUIDE ABOUT GERMAN DNIPRO

On November 22, as a part of Germany Weeks in Ukraine, the QR-Guide of German period in Dnipro is presented in the Artsvit Gallery. This is an innovative tourist route, which includes 16 buildings designed by German architects. The project was implemented at the initiative of the Consulate General of Germany, in cooperation with the Dnipro Council and the Dnipro Development Agency, with the support of the Dnipro Chief Architect.

A feature of the QR-guide is the fact that anyone can walk on their own in the German track and through the special mobile application learn more about the objects’ history. The application may be useful for foreign guests of the city as it is developed in several European languages.

Historian Valentin Starostin and IT developer Mikhail Dyomshin are going to organize a special tour to familiarize the journalists with the selected objects and the principle of the QR-Guide operation. After the tour, the project participants are going to talk about the features of the QR-guide project, their contribution to its implementation and future plans.

Participants of the event: Wolfgang Mösinger (General Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Donetsk with a temporary office in Dnipro), Boris Filatov (Dnipro mayor), Iryna Polikarchuk (the ArtSvit Gallery director), Mikhail Dyomshin (author and developer of the MoreInfo IT application), Valentin Starostin (historian, Dnipro Development Agency).

QR-guide about the German Dnipro

The tourist route is presented in Dnipro, which includes buildings designed by German architects. At the sites, there are plates with QR-codes, which lead to the MoreInfo web portal with information about each of these buildings and their architects in Ukrainian, English and German. The opening of the QR-Guide takes place as a part of Germany Week in Ukraine and should serve as an impetus for the creative economy development in the city and attract more tourists.

Expanded Edition of Ukrainian Female Artists' Names on Secondary Archive

The new edition (IV) of Secondary Archive Ukraine focuses on the theme of return:

— the return of artists who have become military service members to the art field through bringing visibility to their practice and personal histories;

— the return of artists who were born or professionally realized abroad but maintain strong ties to Ukraine - not only through their identity, but also through the themes they address (migration, trauma, periphery, etc.). In this case, the return is understood as discursive and intellectual re-engagement with the Ukrainian art context;

— drawing attention to artists who have remained on the margins of visibility and outside dominant or visible communities.

Artsvit for Kids Autumn Programme: Legends About the City

On September 26, Artsvit for Kids launches its autumn art programme «Legends about the City», led by Alina Shtefan. The programme invites children to explore the mysteries and legends of the city and discover its places of inspiration.

Meetings will take place every Saturday for 10 weeks: at 11:00 AM for children aged 6–9, and at 1:00 PM for children aged 10–13.

We will discover what secrets the Great River has hidden beneath the water, build cardboard bridges, write a short diary of a future traveller, create our own tram line with unusual stops, invent their names, and draw a map of the starry Dnipro. There will also be many other discoveries, adventures, encounters, and creative experiments along the way!
