The Open Call for Residency in Performative Practices

We're launching Open Call for Residency in Performative Practices this summer!

Together with the residency curator, Waldemar Tatarczuk, we propose to explore performance as an intermedial method of artistic practice — one that allows for experimental approaches to creative processes where action, time, presence, and lived experience become the material.

We welcome applications from performers, theatre practitioners, and people open to collective experimentation with backgrounds in visual arts, contemporary music, DJing, generative media, writing, drag, and other artistic disciplines.

The outcome of the residency may take the form of a performance, but it can also be an artistic action — or even a deliberate refusal to act; an audio work, such as a podcast or sound installation; a film, a text, an archive, a social project, or an ongoing research process. If you already have a project idea, you're welcome to describe it in your application.

The residency includes:

  • 6 places for participants based in Dnipro and 4 places for residents from other places

  • educational programme from 9 to 15 August at the gallery

  • travel and accommodation costs covered for participants coming from outside Dnipro

  • financial support for the final works

  • public presentation of the residency outcomes

The educational programme will also feature two experts from Ukraine.

Open Call: 10–27 July. You are welcome to submit a request via the link.
Applicants will be notified of the results by 1 August via the email address provided in the application form.

Waldemar Tatarczuk is a Polish artist, performer, and curator (tag). He actively collaborates with the Ukrainian art community and presents Ukrainian contemporary art in Poland.

Design: Alla Sorochan

The project is a winner of the Per Forma grant program developed by Kyiv Contemporary Music Days with the support of the Performing Arts Fund NL and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of the Netherlands, aimed at developing the performing arts sector in Ukraine.

The residency is also supported by the Polish Institute in Kyiv.
