«Secondary Archive. Women Artists in War»: 15 new names from Ukraine will be added to our virtual archive of artists from Eastern and Central Europe

We proudly announce that on the 15th of March at 7 p.m. we will be holding an event for the project, ‘Secondary Archive. Women Artists in War’. It will be an online launch of 15 new names from Ukraine that will be added to our virtual archive of women artists from Eastern and Central Europe.

The culmination of our project involves selecting 5 junior artists from a pool of 120 applications, along with an additional 10 artists chosen by our esteemed art curators: Kateryna Iakovlenko, Oksana Briukhovetska, Alya Segal.

We invite you to join the event online, created by Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation in collaboration with Галерея Артсвіт in Ukraine and Galeria Labirynt in Lublin. During the event, the project's curators will provide insightful discussions on artists' experiences during times of war.

We are very excited to share this news with you. Continuing to develop the Secondary Archive project is a vital element of the Foundation’s and Artsvit Gallery’s work as it enables the cultivation of women’s modern art from Europe on a global scale.

The next part of the project – the exhibition at Galeria Labirynt will take place in spring this year.

We will livestream the launch in English and Ukrainian, more info on the event page: Secondary Archive. Women Artists in War – launch of the new Ukrainian statements.

The project ‘Secondary Archive. Women Artists in War’ is supported by the European Union as part of the House of Europe program.
