BUS STATION. ETCHINGROOM1

23 червня 2023 - 23 вересня 2023

There are events as a result of which ordinary life seems to stop. Everyone's catalyst for such changes is something special, something personal. Global upheavals also do not pass without a trace — even when an empty city after the destruction gradually comes to life, and people return to their homes, the feeling of emptiness remains. It may never be possible to return to the usual routine.

One of the important feelings that are irretrievably lost in such traumatic periods is a sense of control — over the situation, your plans, and an understanding of what awaits you tomorrow or tentatively in a year, at least schematically. All this symbolizes such a thing as a schedule. Shops and restaurants, communal institutions, busses, people, and entire cities work according to a certain schedule. Thanks to it, we navigate in space and time and make plans. When reality is deprived of this clarity, perhaps even predictability, one feels completely disoriented and lost. It's like not knowing the schedule of public transport. Although the station itself is an understandable magnet, a rescue from the unknown, and even more so in an unfamiliar city, anyway, you will get somewhere, you just have to wait for the transport.

And sometimes a public transport station becomes a kind of symbol of waiting for something new, changes for the better. However, it is not the goal itself, but only a pause on the way. An opportunity to rest, draw certain conclusions, and think about your route. Because if there are no precise schedules, and the usual schedule no longer exists, then there is a chance to fill this instability with new algorithms and plans, to take control of your own life, to change the trajectory of your movement, which is difficult to do when you are "on the bus."

If a station has already happened on the way, then it is probably worth using it — either for rest and reflection or for searching for new horizons.
