The new edition (IV) of Secondary Archive Ukraine focuses on the theme of return:
— the return of artists who have become military service members to the art field through bringing visibility to their practice and personal histories;
— the return of artists who were born or professionally realized abroad but maintain strong ties to Ukraine - not only through their identity, but also through the themes they address (migration, trauma, periphery, etc.). In this case, the return is understood as discursive and intellectual re-engagement with the Ukrainian art context;
— drawing attention to artists who have remained on the margins of visibility and outside dominant or visible communities.
The curators of the Ukrainian part of the archive are Kateryna Iakovlenko, Alia Siehal, and Oksana Briukhovetska.
The final statements will be published on the Secondary Archive website in March 2027.
